I woke up is a visual and literary daily diary that consisted of making a piece every day for 11 months based off of my daily experiences. The purpose of this series is to visualize and memorialize the subtle inspirations that can be found in the mundane and repetitive cycles of our lives, giving both consistent places/things new meaning, and inconsistent places/things a familiarity. Through combining the date, the time I wake up in the morning, text based elements, and a seemingly random place from each given day, I am creating an all encompassing memento out of moments we most often overlook, while touching on the relationships we form with the world around us.
